When you consider a few hours of detecting as therapy, then it is always a well spent few hours. As Jeff of PA would say "there is 55 cents in gas money".
Most days I find clad. Then I will find a ring or older silver and sometimes gold. It comes in spirts. That is what makes this hobby fun. Just when you least expect it out pops a nice find. It is the experience that keeps me coming back. Finding a new site to hunt, the smell of cut grass, the birds, sunshine, learning my machine and for a few hours no worries. It's the whole experience for me. The finds are the frosting on the cake.
