Wow! Got a permission at the only house I knocked at this morning. I was swinging by 930 which is nice because I only had til 1. Nice 1800s house that was one of those well manicured places I was sure if get told NO at. Low and behold the owner was very polite and gave me the ok. It was a strange yard with deeper clad pennies and shallow mercs. Ended up getting 2 Indians, 2 mercs (1918 and 1927) a nice buff, and the find of the day this stunning 1877 seated quarter Love token! I have a barber quarter on my bucket list and figures I would skip right past that and get the seated not that I'm complaining though LOL!! Thanks for looking and hh!! 20170620_133348.jpg 20170620_112638.jpg 20170620_133230.jpg 20170620_133259.jpg 20170620_133135.jpg 20170620_133155.jpg 20170620_134903.jpg 20170620_134918.jpg 20170620_135024.jpg

Wow that is a real beauty! And it doesn't appear that it was carried around long before it was lost.

I was looking at this last nite, showing my wife, we were both like "awesome"!
But I just realized that I didn't give it a like, that would be bad form not to like that lovey token.

Awesome - one of a kind find. This is high on my bucket list. Like someone else said its a great coin find, relic, art - all wrapped up in one find. Hard to believe that there are almost 50 comments and so few banner nods. You see as many gold coins posted as you do love tokens. I'm giving this one my vote!

I found the only other love token that has been posted this year I believe but this one is much nicer. There has not been as many gold coins posted so far this year as in the past few years though.

Incredible Love Token. Just stunning.

does anyone have any info on why some had holes punched and others don't? Would you keep them in your pocket if you didn't wear them?

Thank you very much. Yes, banner is an honor, but honestly I'm just happy to have it and happy to reply to everyone's great comments, thanks again!

thank you, I'm no expert but I was told people would have holes in them and then strings in their pockets to hold the coins. So glad they did that as it made it so much better for us lol!

Forgot to mention when I first saw this, did the Initials 'JR' have any connection to the findspot?

The owner and i weren't sure what it said on it when I
Showed him it. He was getting ready to rub the heck out of it to get some of the crud off. I nearly cried lol I had to tell him not to. He was more interested with the trinkets i found as opposed to the coins
