I was thinking the other day.... of all the rolls i've searched.. and all the change jars.... I can't EVER remember finding a silver dime or quarter. Where the heck are they?

I was thinking.... the Merc stopped in the 40's.. right? That means that there's up to 20 years of silver Roosie's out there, yet I have never found any. Why? Quarters... same darn thing.

Yet, the silver Nickels were only produced for a few short years in limited quantity, yet, I still find those in pocket change. What's the deal?

Quarters & Dimes are given out in change regularly,
so odds are when a silver coin slips through, it isn't for long.

Dimes go into Change Jars with the Pennies.
and most Quarters do also.

So if not caught as silver, they still end up in private hands.

This is the reason Most search Halfs, because most of them sit in bank
Vaults.

yep. you'd probably have better luck if you bought a box of dimes or quarters from the bank. usually you can find 2 or 3 silver dimes in a box; sometimes more, sometimes less. silver quarters are hard to come by though, rarely even find 1 in a box.

with the quarters, they are so hard to find because after the great melt of 1982, alot of silver coins were melted. silver dollars, quarters, and dimes were all melted.
