The full letters are:

T.POTTS
J.M
IMPERIAL

T.Potts was 1785-1835, so 1820ish seems right for this type.

PS. after researching, I found this from cannonball guy :thumbsup:

'Also according to the Albert book, your variation of NY-10 is usually seen having the backmark "Lewis & Tomes / Extra Rich." Some other NY-10 Variants have the backmark "T.Potts / Imperial / J.M." The buttons were made in England (where Lewis was a merchant) and imported into the US. The Lewsis & Tomes firm was listed as having an office in New York City from 1819 to 1826.'

after looking again my button is the one that says t.potts /imperial/jm
