I went to my downtown casino for a couple of hours today. I couldn't spend all day there because I've got some actual errands to run. I was a few hundred into searching halves and I was wondering if I'd ever see a Franklin or Walker. Once I do then I'll know the machines' verifyers don't reject them, ala Coinstar. Well, I got my answer when a 1906-O Barber dropped into my coin tray!! :o :o :o I couldn't believe my eyes! It's a little dinged up but I'm not complaining. It's also easily the oldest half I've found, beating the previous 1942 Walker by 36 years! I had a goofy grin as I walked thru the casino to cash in the rest. The tally from the $1000 I searched was pretty good - nine 40%-ers: 65, 66x2, 67, 68x3, 69x2 and a 2002-P, my first! Also got another Sac and a SBA. Amazing! Wish I could put up a photo.

You folks have got to come to Vegas and try this! The silver you find may just pay for part of your trip.

WTG, Immy. Just amazing that a hundred year old coin would still be floating around in circulation. I want one...LOL.

Keep hitting those machines. Banks too.

I'll second that, OMG!!!! :o :o :o Holy Toledo!! I would never have expected a Barber halve to come out of a slot machine. ROFL ;D You are doing so well, ten more 40% halves, a Sac and SBA; you are cleaning the casino out!!! ;)

Now if only I could sprout wings and fly to Vegas I would! I have all time in the world, just not the finances to go there. I guess I better get in gear and find some more silver halves. LOL :D If you have a cell phone with a camera or if a friend has one with a camera you can take a photo of it and send it to an email account. Then you can post it on TNET. If you need help with that, let me know.

Keep up the great searching and go back tomorrow. :)

CONGRATULATIONS

I can definitely imagine someone so desperate to gamble that they get a hold of silver dollars and in the slot they go. Maybe they think it would bring more luck? Great for you, congrats!!! Awesome buddy!

Awesome find!!!! In the tens and tens of thousands of halves I have gone thru I have found almost 600 90% halves, including over two rolls of walkers, but I have yet to find a barber. Congrats!!! HRH
