You are correct sir, I used my usb microscope and saw where the copper wash is being lost already.

At least they didn't put a pic of you know who on the coin.

At least it still has "In God We Trust" inscribed on it. And the Anointed One already has coins out after the election. :notworthy:

Four new (2009) designs for the one cent. This site tells all:
http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/lincolnredesign/
and features your one cent coin here:
http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/lincolnredesign/index.cfm?action=lincolnPenny&Aspect=2

Actually, the San Fran Proofs will be the 95% coppers. The current business strikes are the typical Zincoln variety. Now, the monkey wrench in all this is that the coins minted for mint sets will be 95% coppers. The mints sets have been delayed as the current mint employees don't know how to treat the 95% strikes with an anti-tarnish treatment. The current treatment is for a copper plated zinc plantchet. They 95% copper strikes have all prematurely tarnished before they could begin shipping. This was reported in Numismatic News about a month ago.

This is for the everyday issue of business strikes. Trust me. I know. Mint sets and proof sets will have the 95% copper to coincide with the original 1909 composition.

A quick google of "Delay of Mint Sets" fetched the article. http://numismaticnews.net/article/Tarnished_cents_delay_mint_sets/
