Went for about 3 hrs to a new spot. Found one minnie, a button back, an unidentified coin, some camp lead, a percussion cap and lots of modern lead. Not great but it was better than work!

Petersburg VA, my Great Grandfather ran into a bit of difficultly charging into the "Crater". Any more on the coin?

Thanks for the reply; I live about half a mile from the crater itself. Another good friend of mine had an ancestor killed by the explosion itself. I'm thinking the coin is one of the '43 steel pennies .... nope, just typing that made me think to touch a magnet to it and it is non magnetic. Soo.. no clue yet on the coin.

Any day of hunting is better than work. Even more so when you get some cool old relics and a mystery coin. I hope you can ID the coin.
