I guess everything is a bit different here in California...
Here's a couple shots of some smaller palms... and their flowers?
They were only about 6ft tall, and not more than 10ft apart.
Perhaps one is female, and one male
I dunno.

we have some of those as well in az, this plant resides at the residence inn in phx az near the public pool.........
