These bottles were recovered some years ago while digging out an old tree stump on my property. The stump was at the edge of an old wood/coal ash pit..............

The green bottle has only one marking (aside from numbers) on the bottom that appears to be a tree in a box with rounded corners.
The small brown bottle has "Squibb" on 2 sides.
The tattered labeled bottle is "Double Strength Ammonia" made locally by the "(something) Union Medical Co." that no longer exists..........

The area under the old sidewalk is where they were discovered...........

I plan on removing the sidewalks and digging out part of the area to put in steps.............getting too old to go up that hill!!!! :laughing7:

Exact date unknown...........the deed reads "1900+/-". Replaced the front porch last summer and found a Wheatie dated 1920 under the floor where it was placed by a carpenter..............it was a common practice for craftsmen to do around here................

MuckyBottles suggested the same thing.............

That's what I was telling the OP in another post, shame I don't live closer, I would voluntarily help probe and dig it for the OP...

Looks like you are correct about the past usage of the area...........

Pardon my lack of familiarity with some of the commonly used terms and/or acronyms.........."OP"?

Thank you...........

Any insight about the bottles pictured? Also........the label is not secure on the left side. Should it be reattached some how?

Reattach using 2/3rds Elmer's White Glue thinned with 1/3rd water.

Brush on lightly and pat dry with a soft cloth. Glue will dry clear.

If in doubt, try a sample on another bottle using paper printed on one side only...that way when dry the ink isn't seen doubled.

Thank you...........that information will be tested. My next thread will explain how/why................
