Old Axe Blade

Hit a few spots today and I found this axe blade next to an old cemetary in the woods. Anyone know of a way to clean the "barnacles" off of this thing?

Cool axe, sounds like a cool area Maybe electrolysis or some steel wool will clean it up

Great find. Looks to be a late 1700's to early 1800's camp axe. The best way to get the big stuff off is with gentle hits with a hammer to knock the big stuff off. Then if you can a wire wheel and then the electrolysis. Then spray with extend to protect it. Congrats on a great historical find...Lance
