Spent about 3 hours at an old boarding house and found some copper and silver! The site has clearly been hit before but I managed some decent finds in a couple of overgrown gardens and fringe areas. I dug several wheat pennies, a 1909 Indian Head Cent, a 1937 Merc, and a cool sterling ring. The ring seems like it might be a school ring of some sort but I'm having a hard time finding out more about it. It is dated 1915 and has the initials EBP on it. The inside of the band is stamped sterling. It's anyone familiar with rings like this one? I think it would be really awesome to find an old family member to return it to. Thanks!

Don't know about the ring but it's a great find. Be sure to look for a "S" mint mark on the back of the 09 IHP.

Grats on a successful hunt!

Very nice finds, and I love the ring. The date is very helpful, and you should be able to track down the marks inside the band. Good luck and congrats to you! :occasion14:

That ring is killer. It is a 1915 class ring! 103 years old and way cool.

Congrats on the nice finds.

The ring may not be a class ring. It could very well be a ring with someones initials, and the year they were born, in which case you would probably never find the owner or descendants. Either way its a nice find.

Thank you all for the nice comments. The ring could be a tricky one to track down. The initials don't match any local schools and it was found at a very popular old boarding house so it could have been a guests from anywhere. I will keep you guys updated on the search.
