To consolidate, it is a Revolutionary War period British 60th Regiment of Foot. They were here prior to the Revolution. They were known as the Royal Americans. Yours is really, really nice. Yours is also more of one of the more common varieties of the button and many have been found both in NY and down south. Way to go.
