Old coin hard to read

Found this one in upstate New York, about the size of a quarter, looks like a bust on the front. I have looked through high magnification and can't make out any letters or numbers on either side. The front with bust is slightly convex and a bit thicker than a large cent. The edges are jagged as you can see in one photo. Could be a button. Strange one...

Not much to go on but my best guess would be something base metal and foreign, and a bust similar to George VI. There's probably quite a few coins with the bust having the same type of profile so it could be tough to nail down an ID.
