Old English Sterling Box...but what kind?

Picked this up this weekend. Based on the marks, I think it is:
- Birmingham
- Levi & Salaman
- 1905

The lady I bought it from said it was for tobacco. Anyone know what type of box this is? Maybe just generic?

Yes, Levi & Salaman, but the Birmingham date letter 'k' is for 1909 not 1905.

I would think tobacco box is correct, with the lowered front to make it easier to dip your hand in.
