Its quite a story but let me start with the beginning.

Last year i went out to do some metaldetecting in my hometown.
My son joined me because he also likes to dig op some finds and he is always collecting all the coins we are able to find, and what an interest at his age of 5.

Anyway, after only being there for 10 minutes and finding really not that much, i got an nice signal.

I was digging a hole and there it just popped out, i just couldn't believe what was lying in that hole.
You know that feeling, goosebumps allover.
There it was a small gold ring.
I just couldn't keep my head clear so i decided to call it a day.
My son proudly wearing that small gold ring around his smallest finger ;D

After i got back i was wondering what kind of stones would be in there, so i asked my wife to take it to the jewelry store and ask the owner what kind of stones were in that ring.
Thats the first thing she did the next morning.
The man wasn't even convinced that it was gold!!!!!
My wife told that man well my husband says its a gold ring so it is!!!!! ;D ;D(Love my wife!!!)
He took the ring backstage and after a while he got back with a big smile on his face and told my wife he had a surprise.
He told her there where 18 diamonds in it 8) 8)
So she grabbed the phone and called me at work with that astonishing news.

That was almost a year ago.

Today i have been to an expert with that ring.
We got a program on TV thats called something like; Is it the real thing or is it a fake.
The people who are sitting there are all experts on jewelry or coins or old silver etc.
I went to an expert thats called K.M.Akkerman.
I showed him that ring and he was impressed by that Small ring.
Before i could even move all kind of cameras where surrounding our table just to picture that ring.
The expert tested all the diamonds and was telling me that the diamonds where table diamonds and rose diamonds.
The diamonds where all rough diamonds because at that time they were not able to polis??? them.
Its a dutch ring and it was made somewhere in 1600-1680.

He had never seen a ring like that so to set a price was really hard he said but it was worth at least 2000 euro :D

Today i have had a real nice day ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks a lot for all the replies :D

The ring is an early elegance ring i was told.

And also to Mrs.Oroblanco : thanks a lot for your advice, thats also quite a story, its a pity to lose a ring, but loosing it due to stealing...... >:( >:( >:( >:(

The expert already told me it could be of much more value but he found it hard to put a price on it.
He had no other ring to compare, so that made it really hard.
But it should always make that amount of money.

Anyway i wont sell that ring, thats against my personal rules ;D ;D ;D

That is sucha beautifull ring! I looked at the photos before I read the story and surmissed that it was at least 300 years old. It is such an interesting, unique piece that I wouldn't think of selling it either, it would go straight to my private collection. It would break my heart to part with something that beautifull if I found it. Congratulations, and thank you for posting that!

Don't know how I missed this one but that's awesome! A nice piece of history, and isn't it great when those goose bumps pan out?
