old "Hard Times Token & a whats it.

Found this 1837 William Sims &co token at some foundations, thought it was a large cent. Im very curious about this belt loop thingy, looks like it could be for a sword, but not sure.
any info on either item is welcome,
Thanks

I believe that your "belt loop thingy" goes on a sword scabbard and the straps from your belt would attach to the ring............Lee

I think your right, although I think they normally hang of a clip or hook :icon_thumright:

That scabbard piece is driving me nuts. I've seen them before and at one time knew what kind of scabbard it went to but I've forgotten. :BangHead:
I'm thinking it might go to a sabre bayonet and not a sword. but I could be wrong.

Neat Token and really like the scabbard, I'd go back, maybe the rest of it is somewhere around that cellar hole.

Cool, great info. I tried looking for a picture of one un-dug, or in original shape, thanks everyone.
