Very nice finds. I have one of those unidentified rusty objects too. One of these days I'll try electrolysis (sp) on it.

If I recall correctly, someone posted a very similiar token here a few weeks ago. I'm sure someone will be able to identify it. Neat finds. Definitely worth a return visit.
Love the "Ugly" quote.

Jules

Thanks everybody. I gave them all several hot peroxide baths but still no date on the large cent. The boat kinda reminds me of the mystery boat on a gold ring somebody posted awhile back. Cant remember who posted it? Thanks

GREAT FINDS! I'd check the cave next. People lived out here in the hill country in caves untill the 1920's. Some cool stuff if you can find those caves anymore.

You're in the right spot!

I really wish I could find a Large Cent (in any condition).

Congratulations!

Thanks everybody. I will probably hit spot again. Anybody got an age estimate on boat token/pendant?

Coinman, does the ship token say "Ships, Colonies, Commerce" on it? If it does, it is a circa 1830s coin.

Excellent, I have not tried old home sites yet. I need to get out there, even though it's alot of work.

Hey Coinman,
Nice finds!! Have you put a penny on top of that rusty coin?
It's possible that it's a 1943 steel cent. Cool boat coin or
pendant!

Old home places are my favorite places to hunt. Alwlays find something interesting if not valuable. Look for an old gully or ravine used for a dumpsite. Every old home place has one if you can find it and it is rich with collectables , usually bottles. Monty
