So I got out today near an area that I've been researching. It was an old 1800's Florida Fort that was abandoned immediately after the war. I didn't find any old coins, which was my goal, :BangHead: but I did pull up quite a few interesting iron pieces that are fairly rusted. Guess it's time to start carefully cleaning them up & looking for any markings. Any rust tips???

That's a start man! You keep removing that iron and I'm sure great things will appear. Also, look for some trash pits with shells, glass, and possibly "machine gun" like iron. Hunt in and around those spots and you'll score for sure. Most old forts have lots of those pits.

Good luck
