Today I found this odd piece of crude jewelry at one of my sites that has given me artifacts dating between 1723 (Rosa Americana) - 1854 (US large cent) thus far. It was 3" - 4" deep. It's almost 3/4's of an inch across. There was still heavy wet snow on the ground with passing showers so conditions were quite miserable for detecting. I believe our snow will be all melted tomorrow so I'm planning to get out there this week.

Very interesting. I would not have known how to categorize that. Cool find.

At first i thought it was glass, but it could possibly be amber. Spherical with irregular facets.
