Old Knife

I found this today in a large rock shelter. Im not saying this is from the Civil War, but I found it where a friend of mine found a bayonet from the Civil War. Any ideas? Thanks for looking.

Yep, definitely a CW era find. I found a handle part of one just like yours in a CW era camp where every item was of that period. However it looks like a portion of your handle has deteriorated or has broken off.
