Depends on the kind of map you're looking for.

Check the maps portion of this forum. Sanborn maps are old fire insurance maps, google earth if you want a pretty good idea of todays world....and a lot inbetween.

Check and see if your town has a history center or go to your state capital and see the old maps they have there.

Ex: White's Spectrum XLT, Tesoro Cutlass II Umax, and that circa late 70's red handled junk from RadioShack that started it.
I second that.some local historical societies will have copies of old maps.they are worth evey penny.one group reworked a county
atlas to show areas of history and marked out points of interest.
