Hello everyone, pretty slim pickings around here recently. Mostly just buying antiques for myself and not so much to flip. Normally, I don't look too closely at these pewter things, since most are just repos. These however seem to have some age to them possibly. Anyone got any info on the markings/age? One seems to have some standard mark to it. Thank you

Very cool. I sold a set of these. I was told they were from the 1890s and listed them as such and I think I got $70. Gill is a measurement like Cup or Quart or something like that. I never figured out my maker.

It does look old. I don't normally buy pewter either, but that piece I might have. The old ones are fun to at least do research if they're cheap. I've got a couple of old French pewter measuring cups and I posted them on "what is it". Come to find out the marks on them put the date of being made in the1830s, as another member found a French pewter reference of marks chart for me. I paid under 9 bucks for the two and they're only part of a set, but dang they're heavy and that could kill the value in shipping them. I did once sell a pewter mug and it was around Halloween. The gal that bought it sent me a note asking I not delay getting it shipped, as it was gonna be an accessory for her pirate halloween costume. Little did I know that's how it was going to be viewed from a buyer. It actually went higher than I thought it would.

Cool find, all of the old pewter has hallmarks like yours and will not say pewter like modern ones. That's the extent of my knowledge lol
