Ok...now that I have your attention.........I went out with Mastereagle or as I should now call him, "Standing Liberty Half Boy" and dug up what combined would be the makings for a novel. A knife, a gun, an old roadster, and even a jewel earring. Had a good time, but dang, Mastereagle has been SMOKING me lately. I wonder if he is seeding as well as hunting. :icon_scratch:

Just kidding...he is too stupid to do that. :P

He has done well and I am jealous...oops, I mean proud of him.

Here is what I found:

What can I say? The powers that be must feel sorry for me because of all the stuff I got going on in my life so they throw me a bone every now and again when I'm out hunting.

That and I have one awesome huning machine and a good buddy to go hunting with.

You're still finding good stuff. Keep at it.

Looks like you were in an older area..the TootsieToy roadster and the ziptop pull tab are collectible.

Those are some cool finds. I love finding intact cars. You got a couple nice ones. Don't worry about that dirty dog M.E. You will have your day. My son has been "smoking" me lately on our hunts. I find a bunch of wheats - he finds none yet gets the only silver. ::) Just the way it goes.

I got a good laugh when I looked to see which detector was supposedly getting smoked by M.E.'s detector. "Name withheld to protect the guilty". :laughing7:

The knife looks like an old knife I remember from my grandparents house. Old files that were no longer usable as files were converted to knifes. A wooden handle was put on the pointed end and the file portion was ground down to form a blade. The handle was held on by a lead plug.

The cross like portions on the handle looks like lead to me.

Hey BB, that thing you are calling a knife, actually is a Civil War era three tined fork used by the military. I have two, complete but well worn, forks and the handles are exactly like your find.
Cool digins Tom....

Keep safe...

Keith
