I'd say "Father knows best". It definitely looks like a belt driven saw. Diameter looks too small to have been of much use for cutting logs into boards or even for firewood. My guess would be that it may have been a rip saw for either trimming the bark edges of planks that had been sawed from logs on a larger saw or just for re-ripping boards to narrower widths.

Its a rip saw blade...dont know about the motor but would imagine for a home saw mill....squaring off logs and ripping them into lumberf befoire they were planed.....

Looks like missing body parts to me! If the blade don't get you the drive belt will.

I have seen one of these in action. The one I saw was powered by a tractor. That brings back memories!

T-2,
nice old buzz saw, we had one to cut fire wood , had a arm where the log sat on and it would pivion into the blade, then slid the log down and cut another piece

Looks like a good one!

Soak it in diesel and it will most likely free up.

Replace the wood, make a flat belt from a lift sling...

a lawmower engine would probably be to fast for it. you'd need something that turned slower..

Man are they dangerus!
