I went back to the 1830's school house over my lunch break and dug plenty more loonies and toonies but just before I had to go back to work I dug a nice crotal bell that looks like it has a number 3 on it. I was getting desperate and then got a nice deep signal that sounded like a silver. I pulled out a big 1838 one stiver. When I rechecked the hole and plug I realized there was something else still there in the plug. I was never expecting to see gold in it.
I don't know if they were dropped by the same person but they were in the same spot for a long time. I wish the big copper held up as good as the gold. Thanks for looking! [emoji2][emoji106]

That was one awesome plug you dug :headbang: Congrats on the two treasures in one hole. Crotal bells are cool to dig. Dug my first one this year.

Excellent finds! but...."almost desperate?" that....concerns me.....a bit. :dontknow:

My busy lobster season is now so I don't like getting skunked on any lunch hunts. Only day light I get to hunt is 12-1pm and I'm usually to beat to even go. I would have ended up being happy with the bell though. The loonies and toonies don't count as "good" finds! Haha

S'ok, I've just found that hunting under pressure, especially the self initiated kind, does not help in finding "good" targets. ;)

I say "super killer hunt" because you nailed all three bases...

Coin.
Relic.
Gold.

What else can one ask for... picture perfect... like a sunset. :)
