I went out this morning and hit the old school that is now private property and which I have permission to hunt. Not as good as some of my past hunts but I will take what I can get. My best finds were a 1941 nickel and what I think is a Red Cross pin. Maybe from a blood drive many years ago. The school closed it's doors in 1962 so I am thinking it pre dates that. If you have any other thoughts on it I would love to hear them. Also got 1 dime and what I think is a penny. Gonna try and hook up a electrolysis bath and see what happens. Thanks for looking!!

That poor penny has seen better days, I doubt that even electrolysis can help it :dontknow:

Thanks SS and silvercop. The post you gave me ss looks just like it but it looks like a one piece pin. My pin doesn't look like it was ever attached to anything. But could of been still got some investigating to do. I thought maybe a pin given for giving blood. But could of been a Boy Scout pin. Will let you all know what else I can find out about it. Thanks for the help you guys!!

Put that old penny in a rock tumbler with small p gravel with other clad, and it will clean it up best it can. All my zinc's that are corroded come out pretty good. Try it.
