The ground is thawing here but I am still very limited to where I can dig. I went back to the site I hit all last year to give my dog a run and check out if I could dig at all.

The ground was still frozen in most spots. Only a slope seemed like a possibility. I got the hit right away.

When I started to dig I realized the ground was only soft for about 4 inches down but it was right there :hello2:

A 1795 .. can't even see the 17 and the back is completely worn but it is my first and I love it! What a nice way to start the season! ;D

And yes that is a bear eraser I used to prop it up.

Cleaned her up a little

It helps to use a flash

Awesome find.
I've always wanted to dig one of these.

Think of the history. The worn ones were handled more and it's entirely possible a Rev. War vet carried it sometime.

Yours is worth a good price. I just paid $82 for a 1798 in a little better condition. I love these.

It does look pretty blue in that pick :D It is actually grey. What is the best way to try to bring it back to a more copper color?

I would not mess with it any more. It looks great as it is. I have messed up more then one large cent trying to fiddle with it and make it look better :-[
