oldest coin I've found, grade?

I was real happy to pull this from old homesite, 6" down. Still a little red dirt.
Can you folks help with a possible grading?

Regardless, it will remain one of my favorites, and never sold.
Just curious.
Many Thanks,

Looks like fine details but scratched up a bit. I would love to find some cc silver, nice!

$20 - $24 based on 2010 Red Book. It has Fine details, but again the field is scratched that detracts from it's value. Nice CC silver, either way.

I would like to see a shot of the obverse. The reverse is very nice.

Rpg...both sides shown. I did not even know what a cc mint was, until earlier...Carson City. When were they minting there?
Live and learn.

Diver_down.... thanks for your remarks, it was retrieved from a hole that several square nails also came from. I never saw it initially, it came out last, probably got scratched moving around in the sandy, rocky soil. It loses no value to me though.

I.cutler...appreciate your comments, like I stated above cc was new to me. I will be looking for more as the spot I dug this one in, I barely started. Old home site. Will keep any and all finds posted.

Luck to you all,
BW

Re: oldest coin I've found, grade?

This coin would grade VG-8 with a qualifier of either scratched or damaged. The qualifier would take away 1/2 the value of the grade. "Bummer" Nice find though. I found 2 -1877 cc dimes, at seperate spots last week. Congrats. Hogge

nice coin, but i keep my grading opinions to myself. feelings get hurt, and arguments start. what i have found anyway. the only opinions that really count are from ngc or pcgs or maybe anacs. i think you got a nice coin
