Another novelty coin was all I could coax out of box of halves #80 for the year: a "chrome"-plated half with the "1960 1980"
stamped on it.

And a lone '66 was all that box #81 produced.

Oh well, picking up four new boxes today.................and it won't take much to improve upon last night's totals.. 8)

whats up with those 1960-1985 things stamped on the halves anyway? i have one and was wondering. mine is copper coated also.

Just did a quick Google. It looks like the dates are anniversary dates. Kennedy was elected in 1960 (took office in 1961). I guess they were stamped that way to commemorate the election.

Good luck on the 4 boxes Thurm. You have to go through more boxes than anyone I have heard off, but that is how you get the silver right.....keep em coming....
