One of my nicest finds

Here is easily one of my nicest finds. It is a Lookingbill (7000 years old) made from highly translucent petrified wood. If I remember right it's about 1 7/8" long.

It's strange to find points made from material like this when Knife River Flint was so readily available. I would say 98% of the artifacts I find up here are made from KRF. 20190113_120556.jpeg20190113_120613.jpeg

If you get a chance show us a pic of it backlighted. Nice finds from up there.

That is a sweet treat to see, and a 1st class find.
I am not very familiar with points out your way, is that one ground in the notches or on the base, and do you think it is patinated much now, or do you think that is pretty much the way it probably looked about 7000 years ago? thanks
