Did some digging today! Calling for six days of rain starting tomorrow so I had to get out.

I started at a spot that supposedly had a NWMP post back in the 1870's. I didn't find much other than horse tack and shells. I'll have to try it again sometime. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474425398.502599.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474425443.618661.jpg

After that I headed back to town for a bit, and hit the usual spots. I was happy to see the Orphan Annie decoder pin. The dial still moves, and I've never dug one before.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474425606.233571.jpg

Found some nice old Canada customs buttons, always a fun dig. Old Canadian penny 1933, and couple of jack knives. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474425985.370449.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474426061.211632.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1474426101.397480.jpg

Then I got that super sweet sound of "that's gotta be silver". This spot has produced older silvers, so I was wondering if I had a Merc, or a Barber, maybe a Seated! Then I cut the plug and saw the dime and said "nope, it's the worst silver coin you can find". Congrats on nice finds. This is the second or third time in past couple weeks I have heard the 1964 silver Rosie referee to as the worst silver to dig,why is that, silver is silver isn't it? I've always been glad to get one.

Yes, the member Carolina Tom had a post titled "the worst silver coin you can dig" the other day, referencing his 1964 Rosie. I was simply paying homage to him by stealing his title for my own 64 Rosie.

Silver is silver, always happy to dig one HOWEVER, considering all the old silver a guy could dig, the 1964 Rosie isn't very exciting lol.

That IS the worse silver dime you could dig, and in Canada egh! Tom would be proud a I bet. Looks like a nice day to get out though....

Cheers

L.O.A. decoders worth a few bucks - ive had 2 friends find ones like yours - I found a Capt. Midnight one and sold yrs ago for $125

Boy, I was falling asleep reading about the silver dime.

Actually not, silver is silver no matter what year. The decoder is a great find. Looks like you did well.

I was so mad about that stupid silver I almost smashed my detector! Then I calmed down and decided I'd walk over to the international boundary and toss it back onto the US side.

Kidding, it'll go into a coin flip and then into my silver binder like all he others.

It was a nice day, not many nice days left I'm afraid[emoji52]

Thanks Scuba, I really do love silver.

That decoder is pretty sweet! A nice feather in the cap!

Funny, I get excited for any silver rosies. In our comparably young area the merc:rosie ratio is about 10:1, so a '64 is a welcome sight!

I don't know, I would consider the 1968 Canadian silver dime to be worse, and the Mexico 1 Peso's from the late 50's/60's to be worse, although at least they are big and you don't see a lot of them. Anyway, congrats!
