If you can give us some photos outside in the sunlight, with a shot on both surfaces at an angle. The 1st photo almost looks like signs of paint pigment. It's still a very fine artifact:notworthy:

Sorry, these were taken outside. Also, there is a lot of red pigment on one side and spatterings of red pigment on the other side.

Over on the other chat site, we've just about come to the conclusion, that it is a "paint palette." One individual posted a very nice Hohokam paint palette with the same tally marks. :thumbsup:

Yep, that was me. And here is that Hohokam paint pallet, which very often had tally marks. We can probably assume the red staining is red ochre....
