Great Info. I am actually in the planning stages of visiting some of these sites. Most though are on private property. I will probably bypass those.

There is also a good book by T. Lindsay Baker called Ghost towns of Texas that is an excellent read.

I plan on MDing that one site in Denton in the next few weeks because it is right up the road from me.

I am planning on going up to some of those places not this weekend, (Army Duty) but next weekend. I just got into MDing a couple of months ago and I figured another way to ask to detect on someone's property would be to mention that I collect old wheat pennies, (As that is what I find mostly, along with small buried trash), then I figured the property owner would most likely allow me to MD. I would certainly love to hit that Phantom Hill site, but the owners may say out of the question!

I would like to go out as a group or with others if anyone is interested. I am in Pflugerville, close to Hutto.
