and into a stubble field. After I got home from exploring with Land-Magnet, Cru'dad gave me a call & wanted to go out. We decided to get on with the Stubble field we have 2/3rds covered at the start of the year. Its very poor land that we want to cross off the list.

Still I lucked in with a Henry V Penny & Dad got a Silver Halfcrown (Haven't had one of these for years)

So for a bad field & only 2.5 hours I think I somewhat rescued the day :P

Nice finds. That stubble field seems to be the place to spend some more time. HH....

yeah just about, but only about 3 days until we have gridded the whole field (then we will not do again). Its looks like its not going to be ploughed so we have plenty of time.

There's just 'something' about silver halfcrowns, they're beautiful coins regardless of age.
Nice find.

Agreed, I now need to clean it & will give to the farmer along with the hammered.

I don't think we have ever had a silver crown, must make a ear blasting recovery..

'We' have, although I can't remember Dad getting any of the 6 :D

Our hammered count is going to be pretty poor compared to last year. Unless the Moated site we haven't tried yet turns out well :-\

It looks good, in the middle of a ploughed field, the farmer's Dad filled in the moat some time ago. The Manor went out of use in about 1600 so any coin before then will be OK
Problem is its right next to a Roman & Iron Age Site which the Archies done a few years back we have their report & know where to hit, so we might get distracted if things are slow :icon_thumright:

Lovely coins :icon_thumleft: so, they wont be plowing you say?

Doesn't look like it all the crops were in ages ago in our area, although they could have put beans in up until about now, yet its still stubble. Odd really as its wasted money keeping it as stubble :icon_scratch:
