I got back to one of my older sites that was settled around 1797 time period. The origanal owner was in the military 1812 war, I did find a 4lb. cannon ball there several years back. I have not been to this site in about three years.
Today I went back and spoke to the land owner and she said no problem. I found the three coins, two of them are worn out, just a hint of a figure on each, the other coin is a little different, the date on the bottom of the coin is just half what it should be. I wish there was a way to take of the encrusted plague, but the date is 1777, I think the other coins are from the same time period. The brass item is a nice find, I have found others that are similar, but this one does not have the loop on top. I figure it must be early, I not seen one quite the same. HH
