Hey Y'all,

'Went back to that trench by the old road today, the one where I found that amber chem and awesome CW & Co beer not too long ago. I'm getting lucky with the pottery lately. After getting that perfectly intact jug last weekend, today I dug this nice little ovoid crock from a densely packed clay wall. I also pulled a nice early ABM Carter's ink well, slight amethyst hue to it.

I've got my fingers crossed for more!

It is approximately 7 and 1/4 inches tall, 2 and 7/8 inches from outside rim to outside rim. It'd probably hold about a quart. If this says anything about it, let me know! I'm wondering if it's some kind of honey crock or something, it's very Winnie the Pooh. I'm really not sure though.

It is thrown by hand, I can see and feel the potter's finger lines on the inside. It has a dark brown slip glaze on the inside. My guess is that it's from about the turn of the century or a little earlier. Any dating info would also be appreciated!
