Found a 1749 hibernia half penny (farthing) in my neighbors field. Because I just met him, I decided to give him the coin. Sometimes it's good to give back coins to the owners of the land they so graciously allow us to hunt. It's palm greasing, but also good press for our hobby .

thanx pfp

Wonderful thing you did. I always encourage folks to share finds with owners. It is because of them that we are able to detect in the first place.

I gave away a good many coins yesterday to the owner of a place I was hunting.

Well done.

you know that out there that person is probably grinning and coonfingering their new treasure.

What a wonderful word 'coonfingering' is. Never heard it before. ;D
