Do you mean Garner SP North of Uvalde? Check to see if it's OK
to pan the Frio inside a State Park. By all means take a pan along
with you to check out the minerals in the River. Gold, if present
will be on the bedrock. Last I heard detecting is not allowed in
Texas State Parks but ask anyway. lastleg

Yeah, I am talking about Gardner SP. No, you cannot Detect in a SP as far as I know, but panning is not detecting and that's ok as far as I know. I live in the RGV and don't know a lot about the area, so I was just wondering if panning would be worthwhile in that area. I have never panned before so I am looking forward to giving it a shot on the Frio. Thanks

You can always take your snorkling gear and look for jewelry. HH

There is no telling how much jewelry has been lost in the Frio. Even in the
late 50's I recall college students raving over Garner State Park and swimming
and tubing in the cool waters there. Good luck . . . lastleg

Sunglasses, Full beers, jewelery, hats etc.

I have put a mask on just for a few hours and found all of the above. May be a bit chilly in February

Good Luck.
