Well, I was gonna hit a new spot with Eddy today, but a change in work plans put a hault to that....after finishing up some work and some errands, I decided to go hit the soccer park I had hit the other day that had given my my first rings.....well today was no different. After hunting for about an hour, I finally got my first silver! Can't tell you how excited I was to pull out the plug, and see that silver looking out at me! All in all not in too bad condition either...along with the my first silver dime, I also had a fair amount of clad as well....six pennies, a nickle, seven dimes (not counting the silver one), and two quarters...also found a .380 round that was unexploded...kinda made me nervous...also with all the bolts I have been digging up I am thinking of starting my own hardware store if anyone is interested!

Good stuff. Congratulations on your first silver coin! ;D Fun, fun, fun. Don't worry about the bullet. As long as you don't smack it good with something it's harmless. ;)

Sean looks like you were smoking at that park today,, wow very nice silver dime, and nice other finds also, kinda spooky finding a hot round of .380 though, I am glad you didn't spear the primer with your digging tool,
Super nice job on the silver Congrats
Let me know when you are free to hunt again, Naturalite and I are ready to hook up and find some goods next time we are all off at the same time
Good luck till then

I am more of a relic hunter but am also fascinated with some of the coins everyone digs up on here and occasionally hit the parks to find clad. I actually hit a new park last weekend and found about 40-50 wheaties in a couple hours. But what I wanted to know and maybe someone can help me is "When did the U.S. Mint stop using silver to produce dimes?"

dimes quarters and half dollars stopped being 90% silver after 1964.
