The reddish color is iron from an old tool that had laid on the Crucible, there was some gold left in the slag on the sides and bottom of this find, which has since found it's way into my poke.

Neat find looks like it's proof they were successful at least somewhat in that area are you paning the water nearby?

Slag gold in an old crucible would be RAD! I've foun d afew crucible pieces but no gold. Nice Find
