We found this piece in a corn field this year while metal detecting. The corn field has been in use for over 200 years for crops. The information related to the piece is. Width is 5 inches outside to outside. Depth is 2 1/4 inches. Weight is 3 lbs. 3 ozs. Markings n/a. Location in corn field dept about 4-6 inches in the ground. Composition seems to be steel, it is heavy. The hole in side of first round hole measures 1 1/4 inches inside. [maybe for a grease gun]. Splines inside.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. [we have been told it may have come off a very old old auto.]
Thank you take care. ~~grannyplph~~^_^:4leafclover:

Probably off a corn planter. Something like this (only inside out):

It looks like a Ground Drive hub from an old Hay Rake or Cutter.
The Hub would have been bolted or pinned to the Axle to supply the power to the piece of equipment.
The Equipment was most often pulled by Horse.
