Hi folks,

Hit 3 field sites last week with a good friend of mine here in the valley about an hour's drive south then a more recent hunt with another friend of mine. The first two produced only a few finds but enough to keep me going. The last field looked like a dud, then mysteriously turned red hot as we pulled 5 coppers literally in under 30 minutes (I nabbed 3). We ran out of time there as we had to head home so definitely left more coppers in the ground imo. More notable silver finds were the '48 Washington, c. mid-20th century silver Catholic pendant and a thimble with the name Edna on it (likely late 1800s). The coppers were 2 postive ID KG2s (no date and 1752), a nearly Slick Rick which I believe may be a KG3 if you hold it in the light just right, and finally a 1787 Vermont Copper - my first. Been waiting awhile for that one. Believe I've narrowed it down to a Bressett 10, 13, 22 or 23 variety but it's really worn. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

John

Congrats on the coppers, especially the Vermont since you live in Vermont.
They are not nearly as common as your southern neighbor, Connecticut, but I have found 3 Vermont's here in SW PA versus probably a dozen Connecticut's.
