To hot to dig last weekend so we took a ride to an antique mall on Saturday and spent Sunday on the shore on Presque Isle in Erie. Very nice weekend.
I picked up two for the cabinet, one I know I did well and the other I can find nothing on.
First, spent 10 on a tiny Hood's Liver Pills bottle. It is embossed "Hood's Pills Cure Liver Ills" There are two variations of this bottle, and I was fortunate to get the rarer of the two which is the 2 to 6 dose one. I have seen it in a price guide at 30+.
Second is the one I can not find much on. It is a labeled Trochet's Capsules. It is bimal, embossed with the name and the word "genuine". A contemporary ad for this med warns to only buy the bottles with Trochet's signature in red. Mine has the label with the signature, and a good portion of a logo seal on the cork. I can find nothing on the value of the bottle itself. Not sure how I could go wrong, I paid more for a 12 oz. can of Pepsi later that day than I did for the Trochet's bottle... 8)
Thanks for lookin',
