Pawpaw patch

Today we (mostly) finished planting our Pawpaw trees. Five trees in three varieties. We ringed the bottom with concrete pavers, put a water ring around them, and then covered with mulch. Then add a couple of fence posts and some fence wire to keep the deer from eating them, and we''re set. So now we officially have a pawpaw patch. Way down yonder.

Supposedly within three to five years they will start to bear fruit. Looking forward to that.

Impressive!

Voles gnaw bark in winter in my area. Girdling some young fruit trees. (They go around the trunk at ground /thier snow related level.)
Metal window screen can stop them. Perhaps the finer sized hardware cloth.
A foot tall from ground is usually enough.
