Started camping at the Peace River camp ground over 30 years ago, now we bring our grand kids there to find sharks teeth, VERY cool place to bring kids and get them off the phone's .

Very cool. I used to get a good amount of fossils in creeks in southern illinois.

Nice finds! There are some really good fossils that come out of that river!

Cool finds, are those things with the ridges fossilized horse teeth?

They look like molars of some sort.

Did he ID them?

He does not dive. He owns land along the river & has permission to search on several adjoining properties. He digs along the river, not in it.

I have thought about taking a trip down that way and diving it, is it pretty picked over or does it wash out new stuff occasionally?

It gets picked over daily. There are float trips, guides, canoe rentals, etc. It's amazing how much is still found in that river. There are a lot of fossil creeks in Florida that are good although private land & gators are an issue.

A Meg is definitely on my bucket list, I would like to go try out the green river formation in Wyoming as well.

pretty much from October to early march its in flood stage due to hurricanes and such. In this mans opinion the river will never be picked clean due banks getting washed out, trees, etc. Peace river fossils are deposits from the surrounding land.

If you are planning a trip, few things to remember. Its a felony to dig the banks of the river, gators are swamp puppies and in my 8 years living blocks from the peace, ive never had a bad encounter, not saying it doesnt happen, but its rare.
