Pennies today~

Went thru $10 in pennies today and found a few wheaties, 2-1955, 1-1958 & 1920!
Also found 10 canadian, $2.52 in copper & a 1974 with a stamp of a small kennedy head on the face of it...anyone ever heard of this?

Its called a counter stamp. I have found a few over the years. Some are stamp with states outlines...crosses...peace signs. Google Counter Stamps and you will found all the info you need.

I have one with Kennedy stamped on it too. I kept it because it is kind of cool. I also have one with New York stamped on it. Good find on the 1920 wheatie also. Happy hunting!

I know some people who collect the states....trying to get a whole set. Go to ebay and search "counter stamps coins" and look and see what they go for...you may get a buck for it...I have 2 I have found. Washington State Outline with WA in the middle of it and one of a heart and it says "I <3 U" in the middle of it....think they are novelties.
