My grandfather just recently gave me a bunch of coins he had collected over the years. Some of them I know what they are, others I'm not so sure about. He had a few pennies wrapped up in a few paper towels and separated from the others. I've looked around on the boards a little and couldn't find why he decided to separate these pennies. The pennies are:

1968-S
1970-S
1972-S
1983-D
1984

Any help would be appreciated.

Really can't see many reasons. The 68S and the 72S are the lowest mintage of the year from the 3 mints. Check the 70S carefully for small date variety.
And the 83D and 84 are very high mintage years.
