i always detect by old trees doing so i have found a saw blade,a old blue bottle,a part to a truck from the forties,and a wagon wheel axle

Old trees are the first place i gravitate to when i detect. I also hit any holes within reach of my coil. Be careful putting your hands in any holes. Snakes and other critters may still be inside.

I rarely lift my Coil high enough to detect Trees Unless there is a Squirrel Hole.
But do detect Roots.
