Pestle?

Hey yall! Found this interesting stone at a late woodland site that has been extremely productive over the last couple months (nearly 100 points and thousands of pottery sherds). Any ideas? The front and back are perfectly smooth and the edges appear to have been pecked almost all the way around. Thanks in advance!

Nice. I believe it is a mano, not pestle, although you don't have picture of just the ends, from what zi can see blowing picture up not seeing the wear you would expect for pestle.

I really like what you have done with the frame. The pottery with the swirls is my favorite type to find and is rare in my area. It’s called the circle of life. It’s a Mississippian type of design. The game piece in the middle is also from the same time period.

it seems to be a naturally formed stone that subsequently could have been utilized. I see a lot of those sorts of things.

Yes sir it is. I believe it very well could be a Clovis base.
