Dug up another political item, 'Chester Arthur 21 st President 1881-1885'
'Our Chet, first Gentleman of the land', can't make out obverse scene.
Publisher Alexander K. McClure wrote, "No man ever entered the Presidency so profoundly and widely distrusted, and no one ever retired... more generally respected." Author Mark Twain, deeply cynical about politicians, conceded, "It would be hard indeed to better President Arthur's administration." [1]
Engraved copper barrett.
Small copper pocketknife.
An odd pewter item, looks like it had dial pointer, loose fitting cover found 4 feet away, lots of holes in face. will post on whatsit.
ornamental piece of metal, lower part has wood center, top is filled with a white substance, another whatsit.
